MIT’s Rockwell Cage Gymnasium, 106 Vassar Street, Cambridge, MA 02139

Come volunteer for the Friday After Thanksgiving (F.A.T.) Chain Reaction!

What is F.A.T.?: F.A.T. is a celebration of engineering where participants build links in advance and then connect their chain reaction devices together forming one mega chain reaction. Think of it as a giant Rube Goldberg machine! We typically have around 1500 spectators, so we need quite a few volunteers to help make this day run smoothly.

What are the perks of being a volunteer?

–       Free T-shirt

–       Free breakfast or lunch

–       The joy of sharing how awesome engineering and innovation can be with the community

When do you need volunteers?

We have 3 shifts for volunteers: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.; 1 pm – 5:30 p.m.; 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.

What do the volunteers do?

Since FAT is such a large event, we need volunteers to help with a variety of activities. We need volunteers to help set up and take down tables, welcome guests, sell tickets, facilitate hands-on activities, just to name a few things we need help with!
